General Information:
ThePhatPhree.com is primarily a showcase for
comedy writers. We have a core staff of writers
and editors, but we are always looking for
fresh, funny voices to add to the mix. The
only compensation we offer is exposure, but
with about 15,000 unique visitors each day,
the value of that exposure is significant.
Writers who consistantly create great work,
and who are interested are often invited to contribute
to projects outside of the website.
What we are looking for:
We want comedy writers. If you have a fresh perspective,
if you can write hilarious jokes, if you are
looking for a place to test new material, we
want you to write for us. We also want people
who are interested in contributing regularly.
If you have one idea a year, this isn't the
place for you. We want people who love to write,
and are looking for another outlet for their
comedy. We are also looking for more diversity
in our staff - especially writers from countries
outside of the US.
What to send us:
Use the guidelines below to email us
information about yourself as well as one or
two samples of your writing in .doc or .txt
form (as attachments).
Tips on sample pieces: DO NOT send us blog
entries or fake news. We want to see how well
you write, your jokes, and your voice. We don't
care what you ate for lunch unless it's REALLY
funny. DO NOT send us 20 pieces; two is plenty.

Are you a stand up comedian? What do you
want to do with your writing? Anything

PLEASE NOTE: By emailing material, you are stating that all
writing submitted was created by you.
Also, we only review writer applications about every six weeks,
so please be patient. We do respond to
