San Diego-based studio Engorged Pictures Inc. hurried the release of its new parody picture, which will be available on VHS and DVD before the film it parodies hits theaters this winter. Veteran director Orlando Vegas, creator of such genre defining classics as his Power Bottom series 1-16 (most notably the first 7 installments, 9, 13 and 14) and You Got Serviced, quickly assembled an ensemble cast to star in Bareback Mountain, available this Tuesday, nearly a month before Focus Features Brokeback Mountain opens in theaters.
Vegas said the gay pornography take on the story of two cowboys who find forbidden love on the range will not stray far from his source material, but audiences can expect more sphincter-stretching ass pounding than the original, which will be released in December.
There will be chaps. I can guarantee that, Vegas said. Besides the graphic butt-fucking, I think it will remain fairly true to Brokeback Mountain.
Vegas admitted that when he began filming Bareback Mountain he had only seen the trailer for the original movie once, and never read the novel upon which Brokeback Mountain is based. But, he said, he feels he is familiar enough with the premise to create an all anal tribute to a movie that stars two of the gay communitys most revered actors.
The guy playing (Jake) Gyllenhaals part is a spitting image except for the tribal tattoo on his lower back and the Prince Albert. Does Gyllenhaal have his cock pierced? Vegas asked. And we actually got Heath Ledger.
Vegas conceptualized the climax of his movie, taking a cue from Brokeback Mountains title.
We got a mountain of greased up cowboys, a pyramid actually, Vegas said. On all fours and stacked six high, Ledgers on the stinky end of the pile, just punishing all these assholes until he gets to the top. That Aussies a fearsome sodomite.
Vegas said he was not sure how closely this scene resembles anything in Brokeback Mountain.
Gay cowboys. How different can it be? Vegas asked. I doubt youre going to see Ledgers rectum turned inside-out in the Hollywood version. I dont know, I havent seen it yet. You will in mine, though, thats for sure.
One obvious difference between Vegas picture and Brokeback Mountain is length. Bareback Mountain clocks in at an epic six hours. Vegas said the long running time was essential to his directorial vision.
The rough cut was at four hours and I realized we never used a Kenny Loggins scene, Vegas said. I discovered him 12 inches uncut he had to make the final reel. So we reshot Ledger tonguing his hole while giving him a reach-around. Loggins assgasmed so hard he almost passed out. Theyre both such great actors.
Vegas commented that he is looking forward to seeing the original film.
It will be interesting to compare the two pictures, he said. If Ledger gives it to Gyllenhaal with a fraction of the intensity he had on my set, the Academy will have a tough time overlooking Brokeback Mountain.
